Tell me more!We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Sustaining Mechanical Engineer in our Specialty Printer Solutions business unit located in Warwick, RI.

Works with Design Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and Manufacturing supplying technical leadership to support of Zebra products. Responsible for maintaining electro-mechanical products, replacing end of life components, supporting mfg and supplier's issues as they arise to ensure operational goals and supply chain requirements are met.

1. Provides problem solving leadership and comprehensive root cause analysis.2. Work with vendors to select technologies and generates specifications.3. Construct and test feasibility models, prototypes, and pre-production units.4. Preform product and component tolerance analyses.5. Create designs, documents and drawings per procedures.6. Support other groups, departments and divisions with investigation, inspection, and development of fixtures, assembly techniques, and inspection techniques necessary to manufacture.7. Investigate problems, develop solutions and initiate Engineering Change Orders.8. Identify relevent technologies to facilitate maintenance, enhancement of existing and new designes.9. Accurately estimate time to complete tasks. Complete all tasks to schedule in a timely manner.10. Maintain the necessary knowledge and understanding of system or subsystem for which maintenance responsibility is assigned.11. Prepare system specifications and/or sub specification or evaluate such specifications.12. Prepare written documentation, reports, and memoranda, or other data relative to assignments of a quality suitable for dissemination.13. Give presentations regarding system technical performance, operation, or troubleshooting as required.14. Support development, evaluation, revision, and/or refinement of design techniques, standards and other tools.15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Masters preferred
• Experience 3-5 years design experience
• Fluent with CAD design tools, Pro-E or NX preferred
• Project Management experience
• Microsoft Tools experience, Word, Excel, Project
• Familiarity with electro-mechanical design packaging.
• Familiarity with Injection molding, forming, casting and powered metal fabrication processes.
• Excellent written / oral English communication skills.
